Juicy: Who flipped it better?

There’s an interview Pete Rock  did a while back where he says he produced one of Biggie’s classic tracks, Juicy. But Poke from Trackmasters heard it and stole the beat.

So here’s the Pete Rock version. Who do you think flipped it better? (Using the same sample is not stealing I.M.O)

In my opinion, Trackmasters flipped it better. The Pete Rock version has less layers, and is pretty hard to dance to, but it’s good for head-nodding (ll).

  1. PETE ROCK DEFINATELY DID IT BETTER HE KEPT IT MORE TRUE TO THE WAY B.I.G WOULDHAVE WANTED IT

  2. With all due respect to Pete Rock, he’s one of the greatest, but Trackmasters made it better. He deserves credit for having the initial idea though.

Also, Trackmasters are underrated. Never understood why underground heads hate them so much. The beats on It Was Written were official…

  3. RNC Chairman Michael Steele

The Trackmasters version wins easily. Bass, drums, and the singing are sorely missed in the original.

Damn…I gotta wait till the song’s done before I comment. They do have the singing, but it’s not there during the verses like the TM version.
